Aripuca Tourism Complex in Iguazu, Argentina
This ecotourism center located just outside of the world-famous
Iguazu falls aims to showcase native trees and plants as well as local
rocks and semi-precious stones. Visitors are encouraged by the setting to
wander among the different structures and discover the richness and variety
of local species.
Teo worked on several aspects of the complex, especially in the design of
the stone museum. The walls for each of the rooms in the building are
themselves an exhibit as they are erected from different local stones.
The design challenge was to guide the visitor on a voyage of discovery and
surprise.
Integrating the organic, ecologically minded character of the place with a
modern and simple line of design was a major thread throughout the
architecture, including the gift shop, snack bar and dwellings.
