Kodak Street House, Los Angeles
The front of this Silverlake residence as well as side patios were
redesigned by TDS to provide a more contemporary and interesting
profile as well as more curb-appeal.
TDS’s proposal was to take the limitations of the original design, such
as location of the access, and make it work to an advantage by
re-formulating a façade to include a new entrance. To give the main
access relevance, the studio proposed building a vertical plane in the
front, with a new set of steps and landscape that includes a curtain of
bamboo. A small side patio was designed as a modern, enclosed and very
intimate outdoor entertainment area. Raw cement, stones and a fire pit
are the keynote elements of this space.
