Tayo Design Studio was retained to deal strictly with the stylistic aspect to give this eight unit condominium in trendy West Los Angeles a more contemporary character. 

In redefining the identity of the building, the studio worked on a structure that had already been erected and kept in mind the goal of achieving a building that, while contemporary, had to appeal broadly.  The first step in the direction of striking that note was to remove all arches and decorative components and infuse what was already in place with a simpler, less ornamental visual vocabulary.

In order to graphically break the massive building envelope, Tayo Design proposed a short relief to the building frontage.  Balconies were redefined with simple-line railings and elements in raw materials -- mainly cement and natural wood -- were added to the façade.  A glass canopy, hanging from cables, was added over the main entrance.
The overall effect was one of understated elegance with a contemporary visage.
